Laura Mack is an international business consultant, trainer and facilitator. She brings to her clients a broad understanding of both the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurial life as well as the corporate and non-profit sectors.
She has been executive director of a national association (The Leading Spas of Canada) and worked in partnership development with an international association (the International Leadership Association). Prior to that, as an entrepreneurial venture, she led a team of corporate speakers, leadership and organizational development facilitators and trainers.
Laura is certified as an Authentic Leadership Conversations™ Program Facilitator, and brings a variety of strategic planning, team building and leadership tools into her practice. She is also currently contracted by a Vancouver based consulting firm to co-design and lead training sessions for management professionals for a Canadian based, international telecommunications company.
A passionate life-long learner, Laura recently graduated with distinction from Simon Fraser University, earning a Bachelor of General Studies from the Liberal, Business Studies Program, a mid-career cohort model. Prior to that she completed a series of courses in the Instructor Development Program at the Justice Institute, as well as completing numerous courses with the Canadian Society of Association Executives.
Known as a connector, Laura is passionate about sharing her experiences with ‘netweaving’, actively connecting those with similar interests and activities. Laura describes netweaving as the evolution of networking and coaches entrepreneurs and corporate executives on building their business by using this philosophy.
Laura's primary role is mom to Maxx, an engaging teen with learning differences. She's currently serving as the PAC chair at his alternative high school, coaching parents on how to advocate more effectively for their children. Previously Laura served for two years as member of the Board of the Gifted Children’s Association of British Columbia.
Laura believes strongly in philanthropy and volunteerism and has supported various causes in Vancouver's downtown eastside. Her family has sponsored a boy in Zimbabwe for many years. She is also a member of the advisory board of KYT Foundation, an NGO that is bringing water into a remote community in Nepal and planning a medical centre.
